The title was intriguing, so.. I went ahead and got the book. Oh my goodness! I only meant to read the first few paragraphs and before I knew it.. I'd finished the entire book in one sitting!An adorable story about a little boy who's just had enough of Sunday school. He goes to school for five days and doesn't understand or have the desire to sit through one more day of "school". As he's playing hookie his Uncle Bob catches up with the little guy and fully sympathizes with the Sunday school giving the same old stories week after week. Uncle Bob decides to give the kid his interpretation of Genesis! What a riot! I especially loved the story of Noah and what's her name!
Superbly told.. quick and easy reading. So, light up one.. sit back.. and enjoy being made in his image!

This is horrible. It is so disrespectful to the Bible. Yes, there has been some good fiction about certain characters in the Bible, but this makes fun of God Himself. No bible believing Christian should buy this book. I’d give it a negative rating but they don’t have that.

I enjoyed this book a lot it was very funny
I am not very far in but it is weirdly interesting view of our Biblical tales.
I like that Uncle Bob is telling the stoy his way in order to intrest the child who was sick of hearing the same stories repeted over and over.
Enjoyed the style of Uncle Bob's straightforward country style of American speech so got a fresh look at the Bible up until the Ark, as that is where this book ends. A wee bit of poetic license was taken with Scripture, but God says His word will not return to him empty, so there you go. One error; we are told the name of Abram' s wife which will not accept, but it's in your Bible, and that God changed her name to Sarah when He changed her husband's name to Abraham. Author Steve Vernon pointed out that we were rarely told the name of anyone's wife.
This was an entertaining look at the book of Genesis. From the creation of the earth to the story of Noah. This is the type of bible camp I wouldn't mind attending. Steve Vernon knows the bible well and can throw some humor to make it more fun to read. Never a dull moment
Just the right book to read on Palm Sunday, when all the young children are running around between houses with local "palms" to bless the houses (and to get some goodies in return) all nicely dressed up.
First of all, as the title already sugggests, this is not a normal retelling for children of the stories of the bible, but a funny view from one Uncle Bob on what the stories in the Bible could be all about.
If you love a funny book, have a sense of humour and are willing to take the Bible in another way than word for word as it has been written there, you will certainly enjoy this story (it was free when I got it!)
